Dr. Rabea Alhosh is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, where he has served since 2015. Dr. Alhosh received his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Syria, followed by a pediatric internship and residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. He completed his Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

David Parks, MD

Dr. David Parks, a pediatric pulmonologist and associate professor in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Pediatrics, believes that patient education and establishing rapport with patients and their families are essential to the art of medicine.

For asthma patients, he developed a two-page “asthma action plan” that details what they should do while living with asthma, how to use an inhaler, and the actions to take when different symptoms arise.

Rebecca Scherr, MD, MPH
Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, & Nutrition

Rebecca Scherr, MD, MPH, is an associate professor and chair of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Pediatrics, as well as the division chief of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition.

Dr. Scherr treats patients with general gastrointestinal (GI) concerns, as well as complex issues including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and patients requiring nutritional support. Her passion is to be an advocate for her patients and the community.
