Rabea Alhosh, MD
Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, & Nutrition

Dr. Rabea Alhosh is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, where he has served since 2015. Dr. Alhosh received his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Syria, followed by a pediatric internship and residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. He completed his Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

David Di John, MD
Pediatrics, Infectious Diseases

Dr. David Di John, a professor of pediatrics at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, and the program director of the UNLV Health Maternal-Child Wellness Program, an HRSA-funded center that oversees the care of women, infants, children, and youth infected with, or exposed to, HIV.

David Parks, MD
Pediatrics, Pulmonology

Dr. David Parks, a pediatric pulmonologist and associate professor in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Pediatrics, believes that patient education and establishing rapport with patients and their families are essential to the art of medicine.

For asthma patients, he developed a two-page “asthma action plan” that details what they should do while living with asthma, how to use an inhaler, and the actions to take when different symptoms arise.

Rebecca Scherr, MD, MPH
Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, & Nutrition

Rebecca Scherr, MD, MPH, is an associate professor and chair of the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Pediatrics, as well as the division chief of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition.

Dr. Scherr treats patients with general gastrointestinal (GI) concerns, as well as complex issues including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and patients requiring nutritional support. Her passion is to be an advocate for her patients and the community.

Pediatric Surgery

UNLV Health provides advanced diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for children with surgical needs. When needed our pediatric surgical specialists can provide robotic microsurgery solutions for children ranging from premature infants with congenital birth defects to adolescent trauma victims. Always working to provide surgical solutions that are minimally invasive so kids can get back to being, kids.

General Pediatrics

Our pediatricians examine your children regularly to assess their growth, development, and assess their general physical condition. They also refer patients to pediatric medical specialists and provide other medical referrals when necessary with healthcare devoted to the well-being of children of all ages, from infancy through adolescence.
