Our Internal Medicine physicians are trained to prevent, diagnose and treat illnesses and diseases that affect adults, age 18 and older. UNLV Health features three different internal medicine locations. This location specializes in Pulmonology (respiratory system), and Cardiology (heart).

Clinic

Hematology

At the UNLV Health Hematology Clinic, our team specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of blood disorders, including anemia, clotting disorders, and cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. We provide compassionate, patient-centered care using the latest evidence-based treatments and collaborate closely with other specialists to ensure comprehensive care. Whether you’re navigating a complex diagnosis or seeking long-term management, our hematology experts are here to support you every step of the way.

Clinic

Neurology

The UNLV Health Neurology clinic includes neurologists highly trained to recognize, diagnose, and address the early symptoms of nerve dysfunction in patients. Because of our clinical experience treating a variety of neurological problems we are able to work with patients to establish the cause of symptoms and prescribe effective courses of treatment.

Rheumatology

Our rheumatology practice encompasses all aspects of rheumatology. The population we service is highly diverse, with significant numbers of patients of Native American/Hispanic, Pacific Islander, and Asian as well as African ancestry. Particular clinical and research interests focus on disorders prevalent or serve muscle and lung disease, and patients requiring management of autoimmune disorders overlapping with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, or axial spondylitis. Patients are seen in the UNLV Health Internal Medicine Clinics; we also attend to hospitalized patients at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada needing inpatient rheumatology consultation.

Endocrinologist Dr. Amber Champion

If you ask Dr. Amber Champion why she’s now a UNLV Medicine endocrinologist with an emphasis in diabetes, she begins by telling you a story that’s set in Australia, a story about an abnormally hungry 27-year-old medical student who ended up in the emergency room with blurry vision and an unquenchable thirst — a young woman whose car broke down, whose bicycle burned up.
